Architecture, not policy
Cloud AI promises privacy in their terms of service — a policy that can change. Pathfinder's Settler and Scout tiers are blocked from cloud providers at the Rust command layer. There is no config flag to flip, no policy update that changes it. Your data stays local because the code enforces it.

Cloud AI requires their app or browser. Pathfinder's Telegram gateway means you can talk to your AI from any phone, in any country, with no public IP. Intent tokens let you save memories, retrieve vault items, switch personas, and trigger agents — all from a Telegram message.

A real vault, not a preference
Cloud AI has no concept of a personal vault. Pathfinder stores API keys, passwords, documents, and credentials in AES-256-GCM encryption on your machine. The key never touches disk. A pfcreds format lets you export and import your entire credentials database — fully encrypted.
